Pokemon Godra: How to Play the Remastered Version on PC and Android

Introduction

Pokemon Godra is a fan-made game that was created by Greg Wilder using RPG Maker XP. It is not an official Pokemon game, but rather a tribute and a love letter to the franchise. It has been in development for several years, and has gained a loyal fanbase who appreciate its unique features and storylines.

Unlike most Pokemon games, Pokemon Godra is not focused on filling up a Pokedex or becoming a champion. Instead, it offers a choice-driven RPG experience that lets you explore two regions, East and West Godra, and pursue different career paths and storylines. You can become a Safari Zone Warden, a Military Officer, an Elite Four Member, a Researcher, or even a Criminal. Your choices will affect the outcome of the game and the fate of the regions.

How to Play Pokemon Godra

Pokemon Godra is a game that offers a lot of freedom and variety for the player. You can choose your own adventure and explore two regions with different cultures and histories. You can also catch and train many Pokemon, including some that are exclusive to this game. Here are some tips on how to play Pokemon Godra:

How to choose your starter Pokemon

One of the most unique features of Pokemon Godra is that you can choose from 128 starter Pokemon, ranging from Gen I to Gen VI. You can also choose between male and female versions of some Pokemon, such as Eevee or Ralts. To choose your starter Pokemon, you will need to visit Professor Redwood's lab in Rustboro City, which is located in East Godra. There, you will see four tables with different types of Pokeballs: red, blue, green, and yellow. Each table contains 32 Pokeballs with different Pokemon inside them. You can inspect each Pokeball by pressing Z or Enter, and see the name and sprite of the Pokemon inside. You can also press X or Esc to cancel your selection.

To choose your starter Pokemon, you will need to pick one Pokeball from each table, and then place them on a fifth table in the middle of the room. This will create a random combination of four Pokemon for you to choose from. You can repeat this process as many times as you want until you find a combination that you like. Once you have decided on your final four Pokemon, you can press Z or Enter on the fifth table, and then select one of them as your starter Pokemon. The other three Pokemon will be returned to their original tables.

This method of choosing your starter Pokemon allows you to have more options and variety than in any other Pokemon game. However, it also means that some Pokemon may be harder to obtain than others, depending on their rarity and availability. For example, some Pokemon like Charmander or Squirtle may be more common than others like Larvitar or Bagon. Some Pokemon like Feebas or Spiritomb may require special conditions or methods to evolve. Some Pokemon like Mew or Celebi may not be available at all as starters. Therefore, you should consider carefully which Pokemon you want to start with, and how it will affect your gameplay.

How to navigate the two regions

Pokemon Godra has two regions for you to explore: East Godra and West Godra. Each region has its own history, culture, geography, and politics. They also have different gyms, towns, routes, and wild Pokemon. You can travel between the two regions by using boats or trains that are located in certain cities.

East Godra is more similar to the traditional Pokemon regions, such as Kanto or Hoenn. It has a more modern and urban feel, with cities like Rustboro City or Slateport City. It also has more natural and diverse environments, such as forests, mountains, caves, and beaches. East Godra is home to eight gyms that follow the standard type-based system. The gym leaders are Brock (Rock), Misty (Water), Lt. Surge (Electric), Erika (Grass), Janine (Poison), Sabrina (Psych ic), Blaine (Fire), and Giovanni (Ground). The champion of East Godra is Red, the legendary trainer who defeated Team Rocket.

West Godra is more different and unique than the other Pokemon regions. It has a more rural and old-fashioned feel, with towns like Oldale Town or Dewford Town. It also has more harsh and barren environments, such as deserts, swamps, canyons, and volcanoes. West Godra is home to eight gyms that follow a different system than the type-based one. The gym leaders are based on different themes or concepts, such as Luck, Strength, Speed, Intelligence, Beauty, Courage, Friendship, and Justice. The champion of West Godra is Lance, the dragon master who fought against Team Plasma.

As you travel through the two regions, you will encounter many NPCs and events that will shape your story and your career path. Some NPCs will offer you quests or challenges that will reward you with money, items, or Pokemon. Some events will trigger cutscenes or dialogues that will reveal more about the lore and the plot of the game. Some choices will affect your reputation and your alignment with different factions or groups in the game. For example, you can join the Military or the Rebels in West Godra, or the Police or the Mafia in East Godra. Your choices will also affect the endings of the game, which can be good, bad, or neutral depending on your actions.

How to customize your controls and options

Pokemon Godra allows you to customize your controls and options in the game menu, which you can access by pressing F5. In the game menu, you can do the following things:

  • Save your game by selecting "Save". You can also use F6 to quick save and F7 to quick load.

  • Load your game by selecting "Load". You can also use F12 to restart the game.

  • Change your controls by selecting "Controls". You can use the arrow keys to move around, Z or Enter to confirm or interact, X or Esc to cancel or open the menu, C or Space to run or use Pokégear apps, A or Shift to toggle auto-run mode, S or Ctrl to use registered items or bike, D or Alt to toggle debug mode (only available in some versions), F1 to open the options menu, F2 to toggle full screen mode, F3 to toggle frame skip mode, F4 to toggle FPS counter mode, F5 to open the game menu, F6 to quick save, F7 to quick load, and F12 to restart the game.

  • Change your options by selecting "Options" or pressing F1. You can adjust the volume of the music and sound effects, the speed of the text and animations, the screen size and resolution, the language of the game (English or Spanish), and other settings.

  • Check your inventory by selecting "Bag". You can use items on yourself or your Pokemon, register items for quick use, toss items away, or sort items by name or type.

  • Check your trainer card by selecting "Trainer". You can see your name, gender, money, play time, badges, reputation, alignment, and career path. You can also change your outfit by selecting "Change Clothes".

  • Check your Pokedex by selecting "Pokedex". You can see the information and location of the Pokemon you have seen or caught. You can also sort them by number, name, type, or area.

You can use different apps on your Pokégear, such as the map, the phone, the radio, the clock, the calculator, the memo pad, the coin tosser, the berry finder, the item finder, the happiness checker, the daycare checker, the IV checker, the EV checker, and the nature changer.

  • Exit the game menu by selecting "Exit" or pressing X or Esc.

By customizing your controls and options, you can make your gameplay more comfortable and convenient.

How to catch and train Pokemon

Pokemon Godra has many Pokemon for you to catch and train, from Gen I to Gen VI, as well as some original fakemon. You can encounter Pokemon in different ways, such as walking in tall grass, surfing on water, fishing with a rod, using a headbutt on a tree, using a rock smash on a boulder, using a dig on a cave floor, using a sweet scent on a honey tree, or using a repel trick on a specific route. You can also encounter some Pokemon by triggering certain events or conditions, such as roaming legendaries, gift Pokemon, in-game trades, or special evolutions.

To catch a Pokemon, you will need to weaken it with your own Pokemon's moves, and then throw a Pokeball at it. You can use different types of Pokeballs to increase your chances of catching a Pokemon, such as Great Balls, Ultra Balls, Dusk Balls, Quick Balls, Timer Balls, Net Balls, Nest Balls , or Luxury Balls. You can also use status effects, such as sleep, paralysis, poison, burn, or freeze, to make the Pokemon easier to catch. However, be careful not to knock out the Pokemon with your attacks, or you will lose the chance to catch it.

To train a Pokemon, you will need to battle other Pokemon and gain experience points. You can battle wild Pokemon, trainers, gym leaders, or other opponents in the game. As your Pokemon gain experience points, they will level up and increase their stats. They may also learn new moves or evolve into stronger forms. You can also use items, such as rare candies, vitamins, TMs, HMs, or evolution stones, to boost your Pokemon's growth and performance.

When training a Pokemon, you should pay attention to its nature, ability, IVs, EVs, and moveset. These factors will affect how your Pokemon performs in battle and what role it can play in your team. For example, a Pokemon with a timid nature will have higher speed but lower attack, which is good for a special sweeper. A Pokemon with an intimidate ability will lower the opponent's attack when it enters the battle, which is good for a physical tank. A Pokemon with high IVs will have higher potential in its stats than a Pokemon with low IVs. A Pokemon with high EVs will have higher actual values in its stats than a Pokemon with low EVs. A Pokemon with a balanced and effective moveset will have more options and coverage in battle than a Pokemon with a limited and weak moveset.

By catching and training Pokemon, you can build your own team and challenge any opponent in the game.
